After having dealt with real estate in New York and San Francisco, we were prepared for guerrilla warfare: high pressure and no allies. Our first meeting with Sarah was for a drink at one of the local restaurants - she talked to us about Austin and offered to take us out for a tour of the city so that we would have a better feel of what we were getting into. Our first impression was drinks with an old family friend: familiar, welcoming, and gracious. Sarah never pressured us to make a decision and always came back to "needs to hear 'this is the house' from us". She even talked us out of a few doozies because as outsiders there are quite a few things we did not know to look for in Austin (versus the markets from which we were coming). When we did find the home, she fought hard to make sure we struck a fair deal and was thoroughly involved throughout the whole process. Not only did Sarah help us find our home, she made sure we were settled with painters, air conditioning service, move facilitators and a few other local handymen. Thanks to Sarah our actual move was no headache at all. Despite being happily settled in our dream home we do miss having Sarah around - she is such a pleasure!
